As the original Women In Business network in Limerick, established over seven years ago by the Limerick County Enterprise Board, our Women In Business network is well known throughout the County. Hundreds of women
have participated in our popular evening networking events. At the request of many participants who found their evenings were tied up, 2008 was the year for a change in format, and the events were moved to day time to enable facilitated networking and high quality seminars. In 2009 we teamed up with our collegaues in Limerick City Enterprise Board to bring joint events in both city and county.
The 2006 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Report on Women and Entrepreneurship report showed that female entrepreneurship is an increasingly important part of the economic profile of any country. But the male/female gap is still significant, especially in high-income countries and technology-intense sectors.
The Women In Business network is a mechanism for women in business to come together and discuss issues relevant to them, the network meets on a quarterly basis, where a business related seminar is provided along with an opportunity to network and meet new business contacts. If you are interested in becoming involved in the network you are welcome to register your interest by contacting Limerick County Enterprise Board and then you will receive details of all future events.
